Starz of Tomorrow is a Hempstead nonprofit youth program dedicated to mentorship, education, and community support. Our journey began in 2022 with the simple belief that every child and family deserves access to opportunity and hope. First volunteering with other local nonprofits such as HEVN (Help End Violence Now), Reign 4 Life, and S.T.R.O.N.G Youth. These experiences shaped our mission and showed us firsthand the needs within our community. What started as small acts of service quickly grew into a vision for something greater a nonprofit built to give back, uplift, and inspire lasting change.
We are a growing family of community members, volunteers, and leaders committed to making a difference. With roughly 50 active members and more joining every month we represent a movement of compassion and action. Our team is made up of people who believe in standing alongside our youth and families, offering not just services, but encouragement and pathways for growth. Together, we are building a safe and supportive environment where children can learn, thrive, and see their potential fully realized.
We are proudly rooted in Hempstead, NY, where we’ve dedicated ourselves to meeting the needs of our neighbors. Whether it’s through food distribution, providing shoes and clothing for children, or creating programs focused on training and youth development, our work stays centered on the people right here at home. As we grow, our vision expands beyond Hempstead with the hope of inspiring change in communities across Long Island and beyond.
At Starz of Tomorrow, we remain committed to being one of Hempstead’s most dedicated nonprofit youth programs. Our vision is to continue creating opportunities, building character, and inspiring the next generation across Long Island and beyond. Raised in Hempstead, NY, Raquan Williamson turned a life changing experience into a mission to end violence and lift up young people. After years volunteering with community organizations including C.O.T.A, S.T.R.O.N.G Youth, and Reign 4 Life. Raquan launched Starz of Tomorrow in 2022 to mentor youth, share credible lived experience, and build safer, stronger communities.
I’m raising my voice to end violence but I know my voice alone isn’t enough. I grew up in Hempstead, played sports, and made mistakes that changed my life. In 2007, I was injured in gang-related violence, and the consequences took away my dream of competing in sports. That pain became purpose.
With guidance from mentors like Mr. Keith Sanders and through work with C.O.T.A, S.T.R.O.N.G Youth, and Reign 4 Life, I learned how to speak with young people and listen. In 2014, I began public speaking at community events and schools, sharing real stories about choices, consequences, and hope.
In 2022, I founded Starz of Tomorrow and earned 501(c)(3) status. Today, I mentor youth facing racism, poverty, and violence helping them see possibility, build character, and choose a different path. If my story can prevent one young person from being hurt, it’s worth it.
“From lived experience to lasting impact.”
